Dr. Joyce Trandem received both her Bachelor of Visual Science degree and Doctor of Optometry degree at Pacific University in Oregon. While attending Pacific University, she was a liaison to College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD) and Optometric Extension Program Foundation (OEPF) and received the Optelec Excellence in Low Vision Award.
She completed her clinical externships providing primary eyecare and managing ocular diseases such as macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma at Silverton Eyecare Oregon, Pacific University Eye Clinics, Salem Veterans Affairs Community-Based Outpatient Clinic, and Kaiser Permanente in Oregon and Washington States.
After graduation, she decided to go back to her home state of Arizona to practice her profession.
Dr. Trandem’s passion for vision care has been her mission and her inspiration. She has participated in multiple vision outreach missions both locally and internationally, supporting organizations such as OneSight and Amigos/Vosh International foundations to provide eyecare to communities in need.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Trandem enjoys hiking and exploring parks and museums with her husband and two children.
