Dr. Rodney Taylor attended the University of Maryland for undergraduate studies and the University of Alabama-Birmingham School of Optometry getting a degree in Optometry. 

An interesting fact about me away from Optometry is that I have also enjoyed participating in the wonderful avocation of women’s college basketball officiating and I have done so for nearly 25 years. And yes, as you can well imagine, I have been greeted on numerous occasions with commentary from fans and spectators questioning my lack of “adequate vision”. Their commentary is always met with a lighthearted chuckle from me in return.
